The first zine is out!

The very first of my Gay Little History Zines, Queer Characters, is out and can be found here! It follows the stories of four people we’d now see as trans who ran afoul of the law and wound up in the pages of Baltimore’s 1800s newspapers.

There will be a release party at Club Car, 12 W. North Ave, in Baltimore, on Thursday, March 27, at 7PM. Be there or be square!

This website is a place for Ben Egerman’s LGBTQ+ mid-atlantic history writings and events. From trans horse thieves to lesbian millionaires to important protests, Maryland’s history is far from straight-laced. Enjoy learning about the queer past!
